About Culmen Reserva

Culmen Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja developed by LAN. The winery is located in the town of Fuenmayor (La Rioja Alta).

Culmen Reserva is a classic of both the LAN cellar and La Rioja. Culmen Reserva is made from the Tempranillo (85%) and Graciano (15%) varieties. The grapes come from a rigorous selection of vines over 40 years old in Rincon (Viña Lanciano). The vineyards have a yield of 3.800kg per hectare.

For processing, the must is fermented in conical tanks with the intention of facilitating the extraction of colour. The wine is macerated with the skins for three weeks.

After winemaking, Culmen Reserva is aged for 22 months in new barrels of French fine grain oak from the Troncaise and Allier forests. Once bottled, the wine rests for two years. Culmen Reserva is a limited production wine.

2010 Fleshy enveloping entry. Step is tasty and creamy with hints of red fruit. Good acidity and polished tannins. Long finish.

Cherry red with ruby reflections, clean and bright.

Great aromatic intensity, a presence of ripe red fruit with toast, floral and balsamic notes.
2001 Wine with a good and wide attack and a good and light, very silky and smooth mid palate with balanced aromas and tasty flavours. It shows a good acidity, ripe tannins and a long finish with a pleasant persistence. Despite the time, it still retains its great elegance and its great finesse, thank to which it has become a classic.

Intense and very bright, dark cherry colour with red tile colour edges. Thin tears.

Its notes of ripe black fruit (especially plums) are released along with spicy and creamy notes. Its good toasted and roasted aromas are nuanced with a subtle balsamic hint. It has a good mineral background. It still shows an elegant intensity.
