About Comando G Navatalgordo

Just like the characters from the children’s show Comando G saved the world from enemy forces, the winery of the same name has worked to save fascinating and endangered plots of land in the Sierra de Gredos, positioning this little-known region as one of the highlights of Spanish wine. Made up of Daniel Landi and Fernando García Alonso, these two garnachistas can now boast a collection of wines that are committed to granitic terroir and can be classified into regional, village, site and single-plot wines.

Within the category of village wines, they present the Navatalgordo village wine. This wine comes from one of the highest vineyards in Gredos, in the village of Navatalgordo, whose soils stand out mainly for their granitic composition and the absence of clay. The 60-year-old vines are cultivated in an artisan and respectful manner and, once harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts begins in whole clusters and the wine is then aged in foudres, combined with concrete tanks, for 10 months. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or clarifying.

Being directly responsible for the recovery of fascinating plots that were in danger of extinction, preserving not only the wine riches of the region, but also contributing to its renown and legacy in the world of wine, they present us with fascinating wines like this Comando G Navatalgordo, a village wine made within the D.O. Cebreros. Pure reflection of the essence of this town’s landscape in every sip.
