White wine Aged in wood Natural and Organic. 12 meses en barricas de roble.
Christian Tschida Himmel auf Erden Grande Cuvée Blanco 2023 exhibits a restrained aromatic profile, with pronounced notes of stone fruit, complemented by a hint of honey and white flowers. On the palate, it feels creamy, with a long and lingering finish that leaves a pleasant sensation. Moreover, nuances of stone and dried herbs can be discerned, adding complexity.

The controversial sculptor Alfred Hrdlicka, one of Austria's most prominent visual artists of the last half-century, serves as a source of inspiration for Christian Tschida. Much like the contentious sculptor, Tschida imbues his winery with a spirit of commitment, provocation, and irreverence, staunchly advocating for ecology and natural winemaking. Moreover, Christian is a lover of art and graphic design, so it is only natural that in addition to creating wines that speak for themselves, he pays special attention to label design. These are genuine works of art that perfectly encapsulate the elegance, purity, and richness contained within each bottle.
In honour of Hrdlicka's artistic career, the winery introduces Christian Tschida Himmel auf Erden Grande Cuvée Blanco, a white wine crafted from the weissburgunder and scheurebede varieties, sourced from 60-year-old vines planted on sandy gravel soils with slate and limestone. The vineyard is organically managed, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, some of the grapes are destemmed while the rest are left with stems. After being crushed, the juice ferments with the skins in oak foudres with native yeasts and without racking. Finally, the wine is aged in barrels and foudres ranging from 500 to 1,500 litres for 12 months and is bottled unfiltered, unfined, and without added sulphur.
Bearing the name and image of a work by Hrdlicka, Himmel Auf Erden, which means "Heaven on Earth," this wine is a tribute to the connection between art and nature. A blend that reflects both the artistic philosophy of the sculptor and Tschida's passion for authenticity and the pure expression of the terroir. A true masterpiece!
