About Château Pibran
If there is one Bordeaux area that stands out on the list of great producers, it has to be Pauillac. This is the largest town in the Médoc and, on the whole, the vineyards are less subdivided than in other areas. There are hillsides, mounds and plateaus that belong to the same owner, which allows each winery to offer a greater variety of styles from different terroirs. In the case of Château Pibran, an estate dating back to the 19th century and owned by the Pibran Billa family since 1941, it enjoys 17 hectares of vineyards in one of the most exceptional locations in Pauillac thanks to the gravel terroirs from the Garonne River. Since 1987 it has been owned by Axa Millésimes, a powerful wine group that invests in the great vineyards of Bordeaux and Burgundy (France), Tokay (Hungary), Napa (USA) and Douro (Portugal), and together with its director Jean-Michel Cazes, they have managed to showcase the beauty of unique terroirs in every bottle they have made.
Château Pibran is a red wine made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes growing on 35 year old vines planted on gravel soils. An exceptional terroir that is respectfully cultivated with organic treatments and taking into account the natural balance of the environment. Once the grapes are harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed and crushed to begin alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (50% new) for 18 months.
Château Pibran is a Pauillac classic that reflects the characteristics of a unique terroir combined with the expertise of the same technical team that works at the famous Château Pichon Longueville Baron. Long-lasting juiciness and tannic structure.
