About Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé
Gastronomy, fashion, love... Everything is rosy in France. Including the wine! In the last 30 years, the consumption of this type of wine has tripled, and is gradually becoming fashionable. We have gradually moved from pale, dry wines to bright colours in the glass, fruity aromas on the nose and juiciness on the palate.
In Pourcieux (a village in Provence), halfway between Aix-en-Provence and Saint-Maximin, lie the Aurélien and Sainte-Victoire mountains. At its feet are the best plots of the Côtes de Provence AOC. And Michel Chapoutier has seen that. Well... rather his daughter, Mathilde Chapoutier, who has identified the suitability of this land for making Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé.
The red clay limestone soils are key for growing the red grenache, syrah, vermentino, clairette and cinsault used to make this rosé. That and the cool, sunny and dry climate, where the mistral wind blows strongly, cooling the vineyards and killing fungal diseases. This is a great help, since Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé is grown biodynamically, without any chemical products, thus expressing the qualities of the terroir to the fullest extent. This form of cultivation has been one of the basic pillars in Michel Chapoutier's way of working, leading a true revolution in the way of understanding and working the vineyard.
At Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé, the grapes are harvested at night, with the constant aim of preserving the freshness and aromas of the grapes. Once in the cellar, the bunches are quickly pressed and transferred to stainless steel tanks where Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé will ferment at a controlled temperature, resulting in a fresh and vibrant wine, ideal for summer. Bonnes vacances!

2021 | Château des Ferrages Roumery Rosé 2021 is a crisp, delicate, and sophisticated rosé. Exhibiting an exceptionally pale pink hue, this wine is fragrant and abundantly fruity, redolent of strawberry, grapefruit, citrus, and peach. On the palate, it is harmonious and velvety, with a fleshy texture. Peach and lime flavors emerge distinctly. |
