About Ceretto Barolo
Ceretto Barolo is an ecological, barrel-aged red wine made by the Italian winery Ceretto in the DOCG Barolo (Piedmont) with the Nebbiolo caste variety.
Founded by Riccardo Ceretto, this winery is known for the wide range of wines it produces. Covering the main denominations in the area of Le Langhe (Barbaresco, Barolo, Barolo Chinato, Langhe Arneis, Langhe Bianco, Langhe Rosso, Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Moscato d’Asti and Asti Spumante), Ceretto is, without a doubt, an authentic, world-renowned ambassador for Piedmont wine.
Ceretto Barolo comes from a combination of vines from Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and Serralunga d’Alba, 4 municipalities in the province of Cuneo, southwest of Alba that are part of the DOCG Barolo. They are looking for both the smoothness of the Tortonian soils of La Morra and Barolo as well as the austerity of the typical Swiss soil on the slopes of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. A total of 4 ecologically cultivated hectares where the grapes are allowed to over-ripen before being harvested manually.
In the winery, the selected Ceretto Barolo grapes go through a long maceration and ferment at high temperatures. The wine then ages for a minimum of 38 months, 18 months in large barrels and the remaining 22 months in the bottle before being released for sale.
Produced since 1962, Ceretto Barolo is an interpretation of a majestic denomination. The combination of vines on different terroirs achieves the perfect balance of richness and softness.

2017 | Ceretto Barolo 2017 is a powerful red wine. On the nose it is complex, with aromas of plums, flowers, hazelnuts and dried nuts. On the palate it is firm, full-bodied and elegant. Satin and silky. Firm tannins. Very flavoursome. |
|
2015 | Ceretto Barolo 2015 is a concentrated red wine with complex fruit and floral aromas, spicy notes and truffled touches. On the palate it is vigorous and robust as well as elegant and delicate. A harmonious mid-palate that, thanks to its optimal acidity and tannicity, means the wine can rest in the bottle for a long time. |
