Indeed, wine can be regarded as a form of art. Its creation, much like any masterpiece, demands creativity, technique, and profound passion. These three elements are crucial to accentuate the aromas and flavours of a specific terroir. This artistic approach inspired Egidio Corradi to embark on his most ambitious project in his homeland of Montepulciano. Despite having graduated in economics and finance and spending most of his life working as an international stockbroker in Genoa and Milan, in 1962, he finally brought his dream to life by founding the Boscarelli winery. To achieve this, he acquired two semi-abandoned farms in Cervognano di Montepulciano, a marvellous corner of ancient Etruscan Tuscany, and there he began to realise his dream of creating his own masterpiece. A way of doing things that today his daughter Paula continues with the same dedication.
With the aim of maximising each day the unique character of the native sangiovese variety in the historic area of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, they present Boscarelli Costa Grande Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a red wine sourced from vines planted in 2000 on the gentle hills of the Val di Chiana, on soils rich in clay and sand, benefiting from a particularly favourable temperate microclimate. The vines are cultivated with respect and managed with moderate yields to maximise grape quality. In the winery, the grapes are carefully destemmed and pressed, followed by controlled fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Finally, the wine matures for 24 months in oak barrels before being bottled.
With its rich history, meticulous techniques, and unwavering commitment to quality, Boscarelli Costa Grande Vino Nobile di Montepulciano captures the essence of Tuscany, inviting those who taste it to enjoy a unique sensory experience. Undoubtedly, a liquid masterpiece that celebrates tradition.
