About Belondrade y Lurtón

Belondrade and Lurton is a white wine from Rueda prepared by Belondrade & Lurton, a winery founded by Didier Belondrade, which, in 1994, introduced the wine that revolutionized the Spanish white wine market. In 2000, he founded his winery in La Seca (Valladolid).

The climate in this area is continental, characterized by cold and very long winters and short springs with late frosts, followed by hot, dry summers. The changes in temperature between winter and summer are extreme, with a range of 50 degrees, which makes the grapes have an excellent balance between content and acidity. This wine is a varietal Verdejo from vineyards planted about 800 meters above sea level. The vineyard is 30 hectares, divided into 19 plots, and is planted on soils of boulders about 10-60 centimetres deep, with a clay subsoil layer and a deeper layer of limestone. Regarding the development, after the collection and sorting of the grapes takes place, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the wine spends 10 months in French oak barrels with its residue and 6 months in bottle before going on sale.

2014 Delightfully fresh with excellent acidity. It exhibits citrus nuances and a pleasing finish.

The palate is rich, flavourful and fresh. It has a smoky aftertaste and good acidity.

The nose is powerful. Ripe fruit notes appear along with sweet spices, creamy oak, fragrant herbs and mineral notes.

2009 Wine with a large and bulky attack and a fresh and tasty mid palate with a silky and creamy texture. The high presence of notes of fruit (ripe fruit and citrus) are complemented with noble toasted aromas, smoked and herbal touches. Very good acidity. Excellent finish, long and very persistent. An intense and very fresh wine, with an elegant creaminess.

This wine presents a beautiful pale yellow colour with golden reflections. Clean and very bright wine with abundant glyceric tears.

Elegant, clean and complex aromas with notes of ripe white, exotic and stone fruits, typical of the variety Verdejo. Floral aromas are also released along with very harmonious and balanced creamy, milky, vanilla and toasted notes and an elegant touch of fennel.
2008 Good, fresh and intense attack. Buttery mid palate with notes of fruit typical of the variety on a background of wood aromas. Intense and persistent finish with a fresh and fruity aftertaste.
