About Atamisque Serbal Malbec
When French natives John Du Monceau and his wife Chantal discovered Atamisque, an estate in the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, it was love at first sight. They decided to buy it and set up their own winemaking project. This winery had its first harvest in March 2007 and is now a benchmark for those who love the Uco Valley. Among their products, the youngest and fruitiest wines are called Serbal, a tree from the “Lady of the Mountains” Celtic mythology with extraordinary natural characteristics.
Within this line of wines, we find Atamisque Serbal Malbec, a single-variety Malbec grown in the estate’s own vineyards in Tupungato. They use respectful agriculture and avoid chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually in 18 kg boxes. Once they reach the winery, the grapes are cold macerated for 6 days and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with strict temperature control (25-28°C) for 25 days and in contact with the cap for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation happens naturally in stainless steel tanks and stays there for 8 months before bottling.
Vibrant, young and fruity, Atamisque Serbal Malbec starts life in one of the highest vineyards in the Uco Valley. The perfect place to get the freshest and lightest version of Malbec.
2020 | Atamisque Serbal Malbec 2020 is a juicy red wine with aromas of red fruit, herbaceous notes and balsamic hints. The palate is tense, juicy and tasty. A wine with lively acidity, marked tannins, and a long finish. |
