About Ansaldi Cipponeri Rosso Riserva

Although many Italian regions are renowned for their wine production, Sicilia stands out for its ancient winemaking tradition, which dates back thousands of years when the Phoenicians introduced vine cultivation. An island that has played a crucial role in the development of Italian wine throughout history and, today, remains a vital epicentre for the production of high-quality wines. With a rich viticultural heritage that combines traditional methods with modern and sustainable practices, Sicilia is known for its indigenous varieties, as well as its impressive red, white, and dessert wines. The Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (FIVI) and producers like Giacomo Ansaldi contribute to maintaining and promoting this rich tradition, ensuring that Sicilia continues to be recognised as an essential cradle of Italian wine.

Considered one of the foremost advocates of Sicilian winemaking, Giacomo Ansaldi produces organic wines exclusively from the grapes surrounding the estate. Thus, Ansaldi Cipponeri Rosso Riserva is born, a blend of the indigenous varieties perricone and nero d’Avola from vines planted in 2002 on loose, shallow sandy soil with a good presence of skeleton. The cultivation is organic and the harvest is manual in 15 kg boxes. Maceration and fermentation are carried out with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and finally, the wine remains in 220 L French oak barrels for 24 months and an additional 24 months in the bottle.

With the aim of exalting the territory and the distinctive characteristics of the island, Ansaldi Cipponeri Rosso Riserva is a red wine that ensures the legacy of Sicilian viticulture endures. An exceptional wine that celebrates both the history and the future of this unique land.
