About Afortunado
Afortunado is a wine of the Rueda region produced by Viñedos Singulares. This winery produces wines from a variety of different origins. Viñedos Singulares was established by two brothers, Luis and Carlos Barrero.
The climate in this area is Mediterranean but with a clear continental influence. It is characterized by very long, cold winters, short springs with late frosts and hot, dry summers.
This is a single variety wine made from Verdejo grapes from old vines located in the Segovian municipalities of Moraleja de Coca, Santiuste, Nava de la Asunción, Codorniz and Aldeanueva de Codonal.
The vineyards are 900 meters above sea level. Due to this altitude, this variety of grape has never been more refreshing. In terms of preparation, a cold maceration of the grapes takes place with their skins before being lightly pressed. Subsequently, fermentation is carried out for 20 days.
Finally, the wine spends two months in steel tanks with its residue. A nontechnical white wine, fresh and easy to drink.
