About Emilio Moro Bestizo
In a world where consumer trends evolve at a dizzying pace, companies face a crucial challenge: innovate or become obsolete. This maxim has never been more pertinent, as brands that fail to adapt to new market demands risk becoming outdated. Those that understand change as a constant and recognise the importance of flexibility and creativity are the ones that succeed in remaining relevant over time. Emilio Moro, a winery with over 100 years of history in the heart of Ribera del Duero and renowned primarily for its premium tempranillos, consistently goes above and beyond. This is why they present us with a new wine that not only reflects their legacy but also responds to contemporary trends: a fresher, more innovative expression tailored to the tastes of today's consumer.
Emilio Moro Bestizo is a single-varietal mencía from the village of Villafranca del Bierzo, in Castilla y León, Spain. The vines are planted on soils with a granitic composition featuring schists and slates and are cultivated with respect. In the winery, traditional vinification is employed, with fermentation taking place over 7 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by a 12-day maceration with submerged cap without pump-overs. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation occurs over 30 days, and finally, the wine is aged in 2,500-litre oak foudres for 8 months.
Emilio Moro Bestizo, the latest addition to the Bodegas Emilio Moro family, marks a new chapter in the winery's history, a fusion of tradition and innovation that demonstrates its ability to adapt to modern times without losing the essence that has made it an international benchmark.
