About Rietsch Pinot Noir Stierkopf

Rietsch Pinot Noir Stierkopf is a natural monovarietal Pinot Noir red wine from the AOC Alsace produced by Domaine Rietsch.

Domaine Rietsch is a small family winery founded in the 1970s and located in Mittelbergheim, Alsace. They produce their wines based on the principles of natural winemaking, because they believe that by doing so they can better express the character and characteristics of the grapes they work with, as well as their terroir.

The vineyards for Rietsch Pinot Noir Stierkopf have an average age of 30 years. The plots are south-facing, and their soils are composed of limestones and sandstones. Their average yield is around 28 hectolitres per hectare, and they are harvested by hand. The vineyards are worked organically.

Rietsch Pinot Noir Stierkopf is made by performing a carbonic semi-maceration. It ferments for 17 days with native yeasts and is aged for 6 months, all in stainless steel tanks. It is produced without added sulphites.
