About Can Rich Rosat d'Amfora

There are journeys that signify a turning point. After nearly thirty years at one of Spain's most renowned wineries, Abadía Retuerta, the oenologist Álvaro Pérez Navazo embarks on a new professional chapter as the technical director of Can Rich in Ibiza (Balearic Islands). His arrival signifies a strong commitment to the future of Ibiza's wine: a blend of innovation, sustainability, and respect for the Mediterranean identity.

Since his arrival at the Ibizan winery, Pérez Navazo has initiated a new phase that aims to modernise processes, revive the local vineyard's identity, and position Can Rich wines in both national and international markets, without losing the essence of the white island. A delicate balance between innovation and tradition that is already beginning to bear fruit.

One such fruit is the new Can Rich Rosat d’Àmfora, an organic wine made from 100% merlot sourced from the estate's own vineyards. Its character is not only born from Ibiza's soil and climate but also from the ageing method: 6 months in terracotta amphorae, as in ancient times.

These amphorae—a symbol of Mediterranean roots and an ancient winemaking tool—allow the wine to evolve without losing freshness or purity, letting the grape and the environment speak for themselves.

The result is Can Rich Rosat d’Àmfora, an elegant, fresh, and soulful rosé that invites one to view Ibiza from a different perspective: that of a glass of wine crafted with respect, ambition, and rich history.
