Vermut Clàssic Castell del Remei is a classic infusion. The nose is intense, with aromas of spices (Mexican pepperlead, Gentian, and Burning bush) and fruits. On the palate it has a sweet entry, leading to a bitter finish. Flavoursome with good acidity.

About Vermut Clàssic Castell del Remei

Vermouth enjoyed its golden age at the beginning of the 20th century. Taking a mid-morning break on a Sunday and enjoying a vermouth was one of the trends of the time. However, this habit died out until it was completely forgotten and relegated to the past. Vermouth became the drink only your grandparents had.

Nowadays, fortunately, this has changed and vermouth has regained its rightful place. Behind this change is Castell del Remei, a Catalan winery in the D.O. Costers del Segre, in the province of Lleida (in the northeast of Spain), where they have recovered a historical recipe.

The result is Vermut Clàssic Castell del Remei, an infusion made from a Macabeo variety white wine that has been infused with different botanicals (Mexican pepperleaf, Gentian, Burning bush and Cnicus) and spices(nutmeg, saffron and orange peel).

The herbs spend 1 to 3 months in contact with the wine, resulting in a very aromatic vermouth that sugar and caramel are added to. A vermouth in the purest classic style.
