About Tilenus Crianza La Florida

Tilenus Crianza La Florida is a red wine from the Bierzo made by Bodegas Estefania, a winery founded in Valtuille above and Pieros.

The climate in this area is continental but with Atlantic influences. A temperate climate is regulated by moisture, similar to Gallego and Castilla. The average annual temperature is 12.3ºC, with a minimum average temperature of 3.6 ° in the cold months and maximum of 23.6º in the warmer months.  

This wine is a varietal Mencia (100%) from "La Florida", an old vineyard with vines 60-80 years old, planted in glass trellises on steep slopes. The vineyards are on clay soil with boulders, at an altitude of 600-700m above sea level.

Regarding the process, after the manual harvest, a spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine spends 12-14 months in French oak barrels which have been lightly roasted. The wine finally rests in the bottle for a long period of time, before going to market.

The palate is tasty, meaty, balanced and unctuous. Fine tannins are presented with good persistence. Elegant finish.

The nose is complex. Aromas of ripe red fruits appear along with minerals, balsamic and herbal notes. Memories of nuts and wood from aging.
2007 Tasty, full, balanced, aromatic and consistent on the palate. Fine and lasting tannins. Deep, expressive and elegant.
