About Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde

Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde is a red wine made with the Syrah and Viognier varieties in the AOC Côte-Rôtie by Domaine Rostaing.

Located in Ampuis, Domaine Rostaing is a winery internationally renowned for its Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Languedoc wines. A total of 7 hectares of vineyards with different soils, strains and sun exposure that allow them to produce a wide variety of high quality wines. Run by René Rostaing and his son Pierre, their creations are notable for being a direct reflection of the terroir. However, they are not well known in their home country because, by having such good reviews from the wine critic Robert Parker, the product runs out before it can build a reputation in France.

In the vineyard, Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde is traditionally cultivated whilst also taking into account the characteristics of each plot. The different soils, the age of the strains and sun exposure determine the way the vines are cultivated. Once the clusters reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.

When the Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde grape reaches the winery, it is not destemmed. Winemaking is carried out separately and alcoholic fermentation happens spontaneously with native yeasts. It is then aged in oak barrels, only 10% of which are new. Finally the wine is bottled without being filtered.

Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde is the red wine that best reflects the ways of working in one of the most typical Côte-Rôtie wineries.

2017 Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde 2017 is a concentrated red wine with red fruits, spices and notes of liquorice on the nose. The palate is dense, with a good concentration of red fruit and beautifully fragrant juniper. It has a good acidity that leads to a long, saline and penetrating finish.
