About Fulcro Pescuda Blanco

Curiosity is also an integral part of the craft of winemaking. Before it becomes a new vintage, a barrel or a different interpretation of a vineyard, every good idea requires a place to be tested. At Bodegas Fulcro, that place has its own name: Pescuda.

With a very limited production of just 5,000 bottles, Manuel Moldes transforms this albariño into his experimental space. It is here that he explores the behaviour of different ageing vessels, tests new balances, and continues refining the style that defines all his wines. Far from being an impromptu exercise, Pescuda is a crucial element in understanding the evolution of a winemaker who has made restlessness and precision two of his main hallmarks.

The wine originates from vineyards located in Sanxenxo, in the heart of the Salnés Valley, where the granitic soils and the influence of the Atlantic impart the albariño with its characteristic freshness and tension. In the winery, adhering to a philosophy of minimal intervention, part of the wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks, while the majority does so in French oak barrels previously used for refining higher-end wines. The absence of malolactic fermentation preserves the vibrancy of the variety intact, resulting in a precise, sharp white with a remarkable capacity for evolution in the bottle.
