About Leclerc Briant Les Basses Prières Extra Brut

When a place is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is not merely for its visual appeal. It signifies that its history, culture, and natural environment possess exceptional value, worthy of preservation for future generations. Few examples are as compelling as the vineyards of Hautvillers, the birthplace of the cuvée Les Basses Prières. Here, each Premier Cru plot is a living museum. Centuries of viticulture, the hands of generations of winegrowers, and a landscape that achieves a perfect harmony between nature and tradition.

In this historic, protected, and almost sacred setting for wine enthusiasts, the project of Maison Leclerc-Briant unfolds, founded in 1872 in Cumières. Since 2012, under the vision of two passionate American owners and with the arrival of Frédéric Zeimett, the house embarked on the ambitious mission to unveil the true personality of each vineyard and craft champagnes that faithfully reflect their terroir. The combination of respect for biodiversity, tradition, and innovative techniques results in wines that are genuine effervescent masterpieces.

The cuvée Les Basses Prières is a perfect embodiment of this philosophy. The chardonnay and pinot noir grapes, organically grown with meticulous care, undergo fermentation in wood for 9 months and rest for 5 years in the bottle. This extended repose allows each bubble to develop complexity, freshness, and minerality. With minimal dosage and the Extra Brut style, this champagne lets the terroir shine with absolute purity, balancing elegance and character in every sip.

To toast with Les Basses Prières is to celebrate centuries of history, the passion of generations of winegrowers, and a landscape that UNESCO has recognized as worthy of admiration and protection. Each bottle is a small tribute to Hautvillers and the magic of a terroir that continues to inspire respect and admiration.
