About Fontanasanta Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT
Being known as the "Signora del Teroldego" carries a dual significance.
On one hand, because women in the wine industry remain largely underrepresented. On the other, it acknowledges a historic and emblematic grape of Trentino, whose current renown is owed to her efforts.
The Foradori winery was established in 1939 in Mezzolombardo, in the province of Trento, and Elisabetta assumed control in 1984. Driven by a profound love for her land, she set out to revive the teroldego, one of the region's oldest indigenous grape varieties. Her mission was to allow this grape to express the terroir and its most genuine character.
Simultaneously, she conducted research into natural viticulture. Through massal selection, she identified fifteen distinct biotypes of teroldego. Today, it is the undisputed queen grape of Campo Rotaliano.
Furthermore, Elisabetta is a member of "I Dolomitici," a group of pioneering biodynamic winemakers, and is also a partner of VinNatur, which brings together over 170 producers from nine countries. All with the aim of promoting her beloved land.
Thus, her wines are a reflection of profound knowledge that captures the subtleties of the environment and preserves the character of the fruit and the identity of the place.
In the case of Fontanasanta Nosiola, it originates from the eponymous vineyard, situated on the hills of Trento, on clay-limestone soils.
Two plots, a total of 2 hectares, cultivated biodynamically.
Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, in tinajas (Spanish amphorae), with skin maceration for 8 months.
The refinement is completed in acacia and oak barrels for 4 months.
The result is Fontanasanta Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT.
A wine that reflects the terroir and the philosophy of Elisabetta, the "Signora del Teroldego."
Respect, naturalness, and authentic character.
