About Remírez de Ganuza Blanco Reserva

Remírez de Ganuza Blanco Reserva is a white wine crafted by the esteemed winery Remírez de Ganuza within the prestigious D.O. Rioja denomination.

Founded in 1989 in the heart of the village of Samaniego (La Rioja Alavesa), the winemaking venture was initiated by oenologist Fernando Remírez, centering on the meticulous selection of grapes and minimal intervention throughout the vinification process. Remírez de Ganuza Blanco Reserva is composed of the varietals Viura, Malvasía, and Garnacha Blanca. The grapes are sourced from 80 hectares of the estate's low-yield vineyards, averaging 60 years of age.

Harvesting is conducted manually with scrupulous care in small 12kg boxes, utilizing the "green harvest" technique, which involves the removal of overly dense clusters and foliage to ensure better aeration for the grapes. During its production, the free-run juice is separated from the skins and pulp, followed by fermentation in new French oak barrels. The wine then matures for 8 months on its lees in the same barrels, with regular bâtonnage.
