About Viña Corrales Fino Saca
With the initial 2000 release they set the bar very high, achieving 96 Parker points. Now they have embarked on a second adventure where everything suggests that the results will be just as good. And it’s no wonder: Balbaína plot, the Santiago area and an invaluable inheritance. With this combination of factors, success is almost guaranteed for Viñas Corrales Fino, the project that Peter Sisseck (Pingus) and Carlos del Río González (Hacienda Monasterio) have set up in the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry (at the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula).
For this project the couple decided to go to San Francisco Javier street, in the Santiago area, one of the most popular and emblematic places in Jerez, where flamenco and art are waiting around every corner. There they acquired the San Francisco Javier winery, founded in 1974, which had previously had two other owners: firstly, Ángel Zamoran (who worked as a warehouseman for 37 years, searching for the best barrels in the local wineries and cooperages); and secondly, Juan Piñero (owner of the Camborio brand). Finally, this rich inheritance, including 74 Fino Camborio barrels, was passed onto Sisseck and Del Río, and is overseen by the Sanlúcar winemaker Ramiro Ibáñez.
As for the land and vineyard, which are crucial to the qualities and greatness of Viña Corrales Fino, the grapes come from 2 hectares in Macharnudo and 8 hectares in Balbaína. Specifically, this second plot, growing 30-year-old Palomino vines, belonged to Pedro Nolasco, Carlos del Río’s great-great-grandfather, who coincidentally was also the owner of Bodegas Francisco Javier (at that time under the name of Industrias Torresoto). It’s all in the family.
According to experts, this enclave, where the Albariza acts like a sponge, retaining the autumn rains and helping the vines to withstand the driest and hardest months of the summer, produces the finest wines of the D.O. Jerez -Xérès-Sherry (as we’ve already mentioned), making Viña Corrales Fino a little luxury with very limited production. Previous releases have had a waiting list. Given the quality and its history, that’s no surprise. It’s worth waiting patiently for just one bottle of Viña Corrales Fino Saca.

| 2022 |
Viña Corrales Fino Saca 2022 heralds a new chapter in the saga of this exquisite fortified wine, boasting a complex straw-yellow hue with golden highlights. Its bouquet is invigorating, redolent of dried fruits, with saline undertones, hints of dried herbs, and a mineral complexity (chalk, limestone, iodine). The palate is astonishingly refreshing and mineral-driven. Exceptionally well-rounded and flavorsome. Velvety texture. The finish is extensive and enduring. |

| 2021 | Viña Corrales Fino Saca 2021 is a fortified wine. The nose presents the sharp notes characteristic of these wines, with fragrant hints of dried citrus peel, lightly toasted wood, breadcrumbs, nuts (hazelnut), nutmeg and fresh tobacco. On the palate it is unctuous, fresh and harmonious, expressing itself with honesty. Long and persistent finish. Great aging capacity of 4 years. |
