Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé in a case

Tasting notes Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé in a case Gift
Cava Brut. 60 months in bottle.
Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé is a creamy sparkling wine with a very subtle bubble. The nose reveals fresh red fruits, citrus notes of grapefruit and hints of spice and brioche. On the palate it is delicate, elegant and balanced. A structured full-bodied champagne with pronounced acidity and lovely minerality. The finish is long and persistent with sweet pastry nuances.

Although Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot, daughter of the most important textile industrialist in Reims, was raised to be the perfect bourgeois wife and mother in 19th century France, never before had a woman managed to run such a significant company. There is good reason she is known as the grand dame of champagne. The widow of a local entrepreneur whose aim was to produce his own wines and sparkling wines and sell them throughout Europe as a luxury product, Cliquot revolutionised the world of champagne. Not only did he save the business by risking his entire inheritance, but he also defied the Russian military surveillance that banned the import of French champagne, to take the leap and conquer the St. Petersburg palates. But that was not all. Two innovations definitively earned the widow Clicquot the title of the grand dame of champagne. Firstly, she invented riddling, the process that gets all the sediment to settle in the neck of the bottle to make the champagne crystal clear, and secondly, she pioneered the use of a yellow label on her bottles, a nod to the colour of the buildings in St. Petersburg, her main customer. Since her death in 1886, her heirs have continued to manage the business and since 1987 it has been part of the powerful LVMH luxury group.
The Veuve Clicquot vineyards are among the finest crus in Champagne. Grands and Premiers Crus under the territorial brand of Madame Clicquot, which include the Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grape varieties. Their Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé is a cuvée composed of a base of reserve wines (25 to 40%) plus an assemblage of red wines produced and aged in foudres. Following the traditional champenoise method, after the second fermentation in the bottle, it spends an average of 60 months before disgorgement and dosage.
Like all the house’s champagnes, Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé is a delicate and richly aromatic sparkling wine. A sophisticated long-aged rosé with the elegance and glamour that surrounds the brand of the grand dame of champagne.
