Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc à Françoise 2023 is a white wine that captivates from the very first encounter with the glass: its aromatic spectrum blends juicy pineapple, exotic fruits, notes of sage, and a refreshing menthol undertone over a backdrop of ripe orchard fruits that invites exploration of each nuance. On the palate, it presents as fleshy and concentrated, where vibrant acidity intertwines with a silky texture that caresses the palate. The finish is long and saline, leaving an elegant and persistent impression that makes each sip a moment of refined pleasure.

About Thibaud Boudignon Anjou blanc à Françoise 2020

Just when Chenin Blanc lovers thought they had tried the best of the Loire region, along comes a new discovery that has revolutionised the world. Thibaud Boudignon is undoubtedly one of today’s most exciting figures. Originally from Bordeaux and, after working with Philipe Charlopin in Gevrey-Chambertin in the early 2000s and also in Australia, in 2009 he moved to the heart of Anjou and Savennieres to start his own project. His winery values the quality of the fruit and is absolutely committed to the care and health of the vines. This is a new discovery that offers a wonderful range of wines that clearly speak of their place of origin.

One of his noteworthy wines is Thibaud Boudignon Anjou blanc à Françoise, a white wine from a vineyard plot planted in the early 1980s in St-Lambert-du-Lattay in shallow soils of grey schist and volcanic rock. These Chenin Blanc vines are grown organically using biodynamic treatments. Once they reach the winery, the grapes undergo a minimal intervention vinification. Fermented with native yeasts in 500L and 600L Austrian barrels and aged in 700L demi-muids (30% new) for 15-18 months, the result is a great Loire Chenin with superbly complex lees.  

Named Françoise in honour of his mother who died when he was 17, Thibaud Boudignon Anjou blanc à Françoise surprises with its brilliant purity and excellent depth and intensity. A great Loire Chenin made in the AOC Anjou that is ultra sensual, clear and tense.
