About Rebeldes Relpaso

"Rebel Without a Cause" signified a turning point by portraying rebellion without banners. With James Dean as an icon, the film delves into the lives of young people lost amidst rules they don't relate to, a lack of communication with adults, and an identity yet to be formed. The "cause" is not external; it is an internal, emotional struggle, almost silent.

Decades later, that same idea of doing things your own way resonates with the story of Javier and Suso. They met in 2010 during a sommelier master's programme in Barcelona, pursued different paths, and were reunited by wine years later. From this reunion emerged their project, Rebeldes. Their aim? To create accessible, honest wines with character, specifically designed for those beginning to explore this world.

This is where Rebeldes Relapso comes in, a wine named after the Latin term relapsus, "to fall back," reinterpreted here as a persistence in defying the script. Produced in the Denominación de Origen Montsant, it originates from a selection of garnachas from old vines. The vinification process favours careful fermentation and a 10-month ageing in terracotta amphorae, which respects the fruit and imparts a distinct texture, purer and more direct.

Rebeldes Relapso is a fresh and easy-to-understand wine, yet with character. Much like Rebel Without a Cause, its personality does not need to be exaggerated. It arises from an honest way of expressing one's own identity, without conforming to imposed norms.
