About Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura

Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura is a red wine from Rioja produced by Bodegas Ramon Bilbao.

It is a renowned Spanish winery in Haro, the historic wine town of La Rioja Alta, known for the quantity and quality of the wines produced there.

Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura is a blend of equal parts of Tempranillo (50%) and Grenache (50%) varieties. The grapes come from carefully selected old vineyards in the higher parts of the Rioja in the towns of Villalba de Rioja and Tudelilla.

Its development begins with a manual harvest and selection in the cellar. With the best grapes selected, malolactic fermentation occurs in new French oak barrels.

In these same barrels, the wine is aged for 15 months on its lees. Bodegas Ramón Bilbao is a nearly a century old now and has great international recognition. In this regard, it was named best winery in the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2014.

Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura 2020 is a red wine that beckons us to explore its harmonious balance between vibrancy and ripeness. As one brings the glass closer to the nose, a bouquet of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, courtesy of the Grenache grape, unfolds, complemented by hints of licorice and blackberries, contributions from the Tempranillo variety, all interwoven with undertones of forest floor. On the palate, its succulent nature elegantly glides, unveiling a silky texture, lively acidity, and a lingering finish.
 
2019 Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura 2019 is a red wine with aromas dominated by cherries and strawberries on the nose. There are also notes of liquorice and fresh blackberry accompanied by hints of undergrowth. The palate is vibrant, with a delicious fresh fruit mid-palate and pleasant tannins nuanced by a punctuated presence of acidity. A red wine with a pleasant balance between fruit concentration, acidity and alcohol, with great potential.
2012 Fresh and wide entrance. Of sweet and tasty fruit with hints of intense pace. Good astringency and acidity. Something spicy aftertaste.

Aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Floral and balsamic background.
2011 Fresh and sweet, with a broad and long finish. Slightly fruity.
