About PF Ponce Pie Franco

PF Ponce Pie Franco is a red wine from Manchuela produced by Bodegas Ponce. This wine is a varietal Bobal.

The harsh weather conditions ensure that the vineyard plantations are of very low production but with high aromatic concentration.

PF Ponce Pie Franco comes from small vineyards 60 years old.

The maturing of grapes for PF Ponce Pie Franco is longer than the other clusters. Alcoholic fermentation lasts up to a month and uses indigenous yeasts. These are able to metabolize sugars completely.

The subsequent malolactic fermentation takes place on lees in French oak barrels of various capacities and PF Ponce Pie Franco is finally aged for 10 months in French oak barrels of 600 litres.

Bodegas Ponce is located in the town of Iniesta, located at 870 metres altitude in the province of Cuenca.

PF Ponce Pie Franco is bottled unfiltered and unclarified to keep its own personality.

The Ponce family, owners of the winery, own 22 hectares of land on which they practice the philosophy of combining work with the vineyard.

PF Ponce Pie Franco 2023 unveils an alluring cherry hue with garnet edges. On the nose, it exudes aromas of fresh fruits such as blackberries and raspberries, followed by a more profound and authentic touch of the Bobal grape. On the palate, it exhibits balanced acidity and smooth tannins, offering a fluid and well-rounded profile. Ideal for those seeking a fruity and youthful red wine.
