Val do Galir Godello 2025 is a white wine that stands out for its understated elegance and Atlantic freshness. About Val do Galir Godello

Val do Galir Godello is a white wine made by Virgen de Galir with the Godello variety in the D.O. Valdeorras (Galicia).
 
Virgen de Galir is a small winery founded in 2002 in Éntoma, a small town in Orense, Galicia. They have 20 hectares of recovered vineyards that they use to produce fresh and highly mineral wines. 
 
Val do Galir Godello is the result of a rigorous selection of grapes from old vineyards. These vineyards contain about 10 hectares of vines planted in slate and granite soil and lie at more than 600 metres above sea level. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is manual. 
 
In the winery, the Val do Galir Godello grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must ferments at a controlled temperature of 18ºC for 15-20 days. Then the wine ages with its lees for 4-5 months. 
 
Val do Galir Godello is a single-variety Godello made from very well looked after micro-plots, which gives the wine its own character and a very mineral expression.

2019 Pagos de Galir Godello 2019 is a white wine with aromas of white fruit and citrus, floral notes and mineral touches. On the palate it is fresh, vibrant and silky. Pleasant and persistent finish.

Pagos de Galir Godello 2024 reveals its sparkling character from the very first encounter. When brought to the nose, it conjures the freshness of freshly sliced apples and pears, while the gentle presence of lime and fennel adds a touch of sophistication. Its floral essence and subtle bitterness are reminiscent of the great Burgundian wines. On the palate, its dense body is surprising, with freshness accentuated by its lees aging, which imparts volume and complexity.
