About O Luar do Sil Vides del Córgomo

O Luar do Sil Vides de Córgomo was born on the 25th anniversary of Pago de los Capellanes, the renowned winery that produces red wines in Ribera del Duero, who have restated their commitment to making white wines with the Godello variety from vines grown in plots located in the D.O. Valdeorras, in Galicia.
 
The Rodero Villa family (Pago de los Capellanes), captivated by the Godello variety, began their venture in Galicia with the O Luar do Sil winery, set up in 2014 to make their dream of producing great white wines come true.
 
O Luar do Sil Vides de Córgomo is a single-variety Godello white wine, which comes from vineyards in the village of Córgomo, in the heart of the D.O. Valdeorras. Imposing hillside landscapes dominated by slate schist soils with a deliciously mineral character. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. When they reach the winery, they are refrigerated at 10ºC and undergo a pre-fermentation maceration for a period of four to six hours to enhance their aromatic profile. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks, French oak foudres and 500-litre acacia barrels. 
 
The resulting wine is aged on its lees, partly in tanks and the rest in French oak foudres and acacia barrels. Gentle battonages happen periodically during the eight-month aging period.
 
O Luar do Sil Vides de Córgomo is a very limited edition white wine (just over three thousand bottles) that seeks the authentic expression of the Godello variety, embodies elegance and combines sensitivity and power.

O Luar do Sil Vides del Córgomo 2022 stands out for its aromatic intensity. On the nose, it presents a complex blend of dried fruits, particularly dried peach, along with floral notes, balsamic hints, and pastry nuances. On the palate, it is powerful and vibrant, with a rich mineral expression and touches of oriental wood, exhibiting great length and elegance. A wine that combines depth and sophistication in every sip.

O Luar do Sil Vides de Córgomo 2019 is a white wine that reveals a delightful mineral character on the nose, coupled with intense aromatic depth reminiscent of dried peach, complemented by floral and balsamic notes, as well as hints of patisserie derived from its lees aging. On the palate, it is flavorsome and vibrant, accompanied by an explosion of subtle aromas. This wine boasts considerable length, elegance, and potency.
