About Marqués de Riscal Verdejo 100% Organic

Marqués de Riscal Verdejo 100% Organic is a wine from the D.O. Rueda, produced by the winery Marqués de Riscal. This winery, typical of La Rioja, has managed to become a benchmark thanks to the meticulous crafting of its wines and their exceptional quality.

The winery boasts approximately 225 hectares (certified as organic since 2018), with vineyards over 15 years old that thrive on stony soils, low in organic matter. These vineyards are cultivated under an extreme continental climate, with an annual temperature of 13°C. Regarding the 2014 harvest, it experienced a precipitation rate of 320 litres/m2.

For the production of this single-variety verdejo, a slow harvest was conducted, taking advantage of the dry weather and complete absence of rain to thus favour a gradual ripening of the grapes. Once destemmed and chilled, the grapes undergo cold maceration to extract the maximum aromas from the skins.

Subsequently, a slow fermentation takes place over approximately 20 days at a controlled temperature between 13°C and 15°C. Finally, Marqués de Riscal Verdejo 100% Organic undergoes a period of maturation and is bottled between the months of January and March.

On the palate, it is smooth and invigorating, with a harmonious balance. Exceedingly pleasant with an enduring finish.
2019 Marqués de Riscal Verdejo 2019 is an aromatic white wine redolent with the intense fragrances of tropical fruits and herbaceous undertones. On the palate, it is vivacious, silky, and well-balanced. This wine offers a rejuvenating acidity and a delicately bitter finish.
2015 Refreshingly balanced. Bitter with a somewhat unctuous texture, culminating in a prolonged finish.

Robust and fruity with herbaceous undertones.
2014 Direct and fresh entry. Tasty, smooth and light. Balanced fruit and refreshing acidity. Good finish, along with light and pleasant bitter notes of remarkable persistence.

Pale yellow colour with greenish reflections and steely edge. Very clean and bright.

A high intensity nose with outstanding floral aromas with juicy varietal fruits (peach, tropical fruit) which stays in the background. Expressive herbal background.
2012 Direct and fresh attack. Tasty, rich and light on the palate. Balanced fruit and a refreshing acidity. Good, long finish with enjoyable slightly bitter notes lingering.

Pale straw yellow colour with greenish reflections and steely rims. Very clean and very bright.

High intensity. Floral aromas dominate along with more subtle juicy fruit (peach, tropical fruit). Expressive herbal background.
2011 Elegant and very fresh Rueda white wine with a good, tasty, unctuous and light mid palate. It shows balanced notes of fruit and a refreshing acidity. Good and lingering finish with a subtle bitterness.

Very pale straw yellow colour with bright greenish reflections. Very clean and bright wine.

Wine with intense and frank aromas. Its elegant and intense floral scents are released along with expressive varietal touches of fruit (peach and tropical fruit) which, at times, stay in the background. An expressive herbal background is also noticed.
2010

Very nice and fresh wine. Good attack with notes of fruit that fill the mouth. It has a creamy, light and tasty mid palate and a good and balanced acidity. Good finish with a bitter touch, typical of the variety, and with hints of peach.



Pale yellow colour with green reflections. Clean and bright wine.



Intense varietal aromas. Many tropical and stone fruit with hints of citrus are released along with hints of fresh herbs and subtle notes of fennel.
2009

Flavor is refreshing while oily, with a slightly bitter end, typical of the variety. Overall wine is displayed as a fresh, pleasant, long and balanced.
