About Les Terrasses Priorat
Les Terrasses is a red wine blend of garnacha and cariñena with a minimal percentage of local white grapes, crafted by the winery Álvaro Palacios under the D.O. Q. Priorat in Gratallops, Catalonia.
The wine Les Terrasses is produced from grapes sourced from nine different municipalities in the Priorat: Gratallops, Porrera, Torroja, Scala Dei, Les Vilelles, Bellmunt, El Molar, El Lloar, and Poboleda. These grapes come from vines aged between 62 and 92 years, cultivated on plots with predominantly siliceous slate soils, and are farmed organically.
Upon arrival at the winery, the grape clusters are gently destemmed and crushed to initiate alcoholic fermentation, which takes place in cement and wooden vats, using indigenous yeasts and periodic punch-downs. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in wooden vats and barrels and is aged for approximately one year in barrels.
Les Terrasses is a red wine from the renowned oenologist Álvaro Palacios that encapsulates the personality of the steep slopes of the Priorat with the concentration and character of the old vines from which it originates, imbued with the winery's hallmark elegance. A must for wine enthusiasts.
