About La Volaina

La Volaina is a biodynamic Parellada variety white wine produced by Celler Credo in the D.O. Penedès.

Celler Credo is the still wine project by the prestigious Recaredo sparkling wine maker. Great champions of the Xarel·lo variety, they defend the Penedès landscape at all costs and practice organic and biodynamic cultivation for all their wines. Very limited productions where they experiment with other native varieties such as Parellada, Macabeo and Malvasía.

La Volaina is the result of an initiative launched by Celler Credo together with Museo de Ciencias Naturales de Granollers with the aim of researching and sharing the importance of butterflies (Volainas). For this, the Parellada variety is grown in fully ecological vineyards in the town of Pla de Manlleu, one of the highest altitude areas of the Penedès region (500 metres above sea level). The harvest is carried out manually and transported in small boxes.

All winemaking and bottling is carried out in the Celler Credo winery. When making La Volaina, alcoholic fermentation takes place with its own yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Due to the minimum intervention, the wine may have natural sediments.

La Volaina is a low-alcohol white wine with great aromatic intensity.
2019

La Volaina 2019 is a fragrant white wine. Olfactorily, it is robust and pronounced, exuding scents of flint, blossoms, wild herbs, and nuts. On the palate, it is zesty and refined, boasting a well-harmonized acidity and balance. The finish is subtle and pleasantly bitter. A delightful experience.
2018 La Volaina 2018 is an aromatic white wine with floral and white fruit notes and citrus highlights on the nose. On the palate it is fresh and light with persistent nuances of the fruit.
