About Glorioso Gran Reserva

Glorioso Gran Reserva is a Tempranillo wine that Bodegas Palacios cultivates and produces in the heart of the D.O.C.A. Rioja.

Bodegas Palacio, which currently belongs to Grupo Bodegas Palacio 1894, is located in Laguardia, a town in Rioja Alavesa. In their work they emphasise the careful selection of the grapes, the vinification separated according to vineyards, the increase in maceration time and the use of good quality French oak barrels.

In the vineyard the TempranilloGlorioso Gran Reserva variety takes on body like it does nowhere else. The clay-calcareous soils and continental-Mediterranean climate typical of the area provide enough heat and humidity to harvest an extraordinary fruit at the optimum moment of ripeness.

As soon as the Glorioso Gran Reserva grapes are thoroughly selected, they are subjected to cold pre-maceration. Alcoholic fermentation then begins in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for about 25 months, and is left to refine in the bottle for at least 36 months before going on the market.

2012 Glorioso Gran Reserva 2012 is a ripe red wine with a base note of fruit and spicy elements. On the palate it is balanced and has a delicate acidity.
