About Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli
When we picture a Tuscan landscape, we usually think of a region of Italy known for its natural beauty and picturesque charm. Famous for its rolling hills covered with green fields, vineyards and olive groves, its charming medieval villages full of life and its magnificent Renaissance-style architecture, Tuscany offers a deep connection to Italian history and culture. But most of all, when we picture a Tuscan landscape, where wine is the protagonist, we find ourselves looking at Castello di Fonterutoli, a jewel in the Chianti Classico area’s crown. Owned by the Mazzei family since 1435 and located in the village of the same name, its focus on tradition and quality has made it one of Italy’s most iconic wine producers and a benchmark for world-class Chianti Classico at the international level.
Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard lying 350 metres above sea level. The vines are planted on cool hills and surrounded by thick woods that protect them from the hot summers. The grapes are respectfully cultivated and when they reach optimum ripeness, they are selected and harvested manually. In the winery, in a balanced amalgam of modernity and tradition, the grapes are selected and destemmed to begin vinification in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in small oak barrels and a further 3 months in concrete tanks before bottling.
Part of the IGP Rosso Toscana, both by location and surname, Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli is a clear benchmark in the Tuscan landscape. A sensory experience where tradition and quality merge marvellously.
2020 | Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli 2020 is a concentrated red wine with complex aromas of wild berries, blackcurrants, roasted herbs, spices and dark minerals. On the palate, it reveals an abundant presence of sweet fruit that delights the palate, followed by dry, well-integrated tannins that add structure and balance to the sensory experience. |
