About Yann Durieux Love and Pif

Yann Durieux Love and Pif is a natural single-variety Aligoté white wine made by Yann Durieux, under the Vin de France denomination, in Burgundy, France.

The grapes used to make Yann Durieux Love and Pif come from plots of Aligoté vines aged over 40 years old and planted in predominantly clay-calcareous soils. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in whole bunches with their own yeasts. The resulting wine ages for ten months in stainless steel tanks. Sulphites are not added and the wine is bottled without filtering or clarifying.

Yann Durieux revived the Recrue des Sens family winery and vineyards after having spent more than ten years working at the Prieuré-Roch winery. This young winemaker is turning heads in Burgundy with his commitment to nature in Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, where he cultivates his vines through a balanced viticulture under the principles of organic agriculture and never using chemical products.

Sometimes the Aligoté variety is considered a second class grape but with Love and Pif, Yann Durieux has managed to make an ethereal and elegant wine that is surprisingly delicate.
2017 Yann Durieux Love and Pif 2017 is a white wine that offers aromas of white flowers, lime, grapefruit, honey and green apples on the nose. On the palate it has a fresh and crispy acidity with the presence of citrus fruits such as lemon, lime and grapefruit, with a hint of redcurrant and honey. An elegant wine with a long aftertaste and subtle bitterness. It may have a light carbonic touch.
