About Vadio Espumante Branco Brut

Vadio Espumante Branco Brut is an organic sparkling wine produced by the Vadio winery with the Bical, Baga and Secial varieties in the Portuguese appellation DOC Bairrada, in Beiras.
 
Vadio is the small project started by winemaker Luis Patrao in the village of Poutena, in the Portuguese region of Bairrada. The winery comprises two adjoining plots where native varieties are grown and vinified in search of the maximum expression of the terroir.
 
Vadio Espumante Branco Brut comes from a 4.5 hectare plot located on a hillside with sandy-loam soils. It contains 30 year old vines grown under organic certification and without using chemicals. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
 
In the winery, the Vadio Espumante Branco Brut grapes are gently pressed and the must obtained ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle and the wine is aged on the lees for 18 months. Finally, disgorgement takes place with the subsequent dose of the expedition liqueur.
 
Based on a classic style and an absolute respect for the authenticity of the region, Vadio Espumante Branco Brut is a sparkling wine with exquisite sweetness, finesse and sensitivity.
