About Rietsch Entre Chien et Loup

Rietsch Entre Chien et Loup is a natural monovarietal Auxerrois white wine from Alsace produced byDomaine Rietsch.

Domaine Rietsch is a family winery located in Alsace which was founded in 1970. It cultivates its vineyards organically and produces natural wines, without using sulphites and with the minimum possible intervention.

The grapes for Rietsch Between Chien et Loup come from vineyards on clay and limestone soils located on hillsides in Mittelbergheim. The vineyard is cultivated organically and has been certified since 2008.

Rietsch Entre Chien et Loup has been fermented with the grape’s own native yeasts. The wine also underwent malolactic fermentation to lower the acidity a little and provide it with slight lactic touches. Lastly, the wine is aged on lees for 13 months in 1,500 litre foudres.
2016 Rietsch Entre Chien et Loup 2016 has aromas of brioche, and citrus notes that open up little by little. White and yellow fruit also appear. On the palate it is complex, lively and tense, with a pleasant acidity. It has volume, is lingering and is accompanied by a pleasant bitterness.
