About Predicador Blanco

Predicador Blanco is a white wine from the D.O. Rioja made by Bodega Contador.
It's a blend of White Grenache (42%), Viura (33%) and Malvasía (25%) from vineyards in the towns of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Briones.
A key to all work carried out at Bodega Contador is the meticulous attention paid to detail at every stage of the production process.
The soil is only treated with fertilizer some years, and it is always made from organic material made in the winery from sheep manure. Bodega Contador follow biodynamic guidelines throughout the whole process.
The must flower ferments in new French oak barrels. It goes through a cold maceration for 48 hours and ferments at a controlled temperature of between 15 and 18ºC. Predicator Blanco ages for 8 months in new (30%) and one wine old (70%) French oak barrels.
An excellent white wine, doted with a special character provided by its ageing in wood.
2020 Predicador Blanco 2020 exemplifies the prowess of Rioja in crafting white wines of distinction. The bouquet is replete with ripe fruit and aromatic herbs, interlaced with delicate floral nuances and a hint of the nuanced contributions from its barrel aging, which emerge with understated elegance. On the palate, it articulates its liveliness through a flawless equilibrium of zest and acidity. This white wine is well-structured, with a rounded and invigorating profile.
2018 Predicador Blanco 2018 is a mature white wine with aromas of stone fruits, white flowers and aromatic herbs combined with a mineral background and elegant wooden notes. On the palate it is fruity and voluminous with good structure. It has good acidity with bright freshness and a long finish.
2012 Round in the mouth with good, fresh attack. Dense and unctuous on the palate, with delicate tannins and a very good, refreshing, deep acidity. A long and persistent finish. Totally recommendable.

A pretty golden colour with greenish reflections. Clean and bright. Abundant slow and even falling tears show on the glass.

Intense, with ripe white fruit and some citrus notes. Aromas of wild white flowers, fine herbs and lightly toasted notes compliment a very fresh and interesting nose.
2011 In the mouth, this white wine is round. It has a good, fresh attack and a dense and onctuous mid palate with a delicate tannic structure and a very good, refreshing and deep acidity. Long and persistent finish. Highly recommendable.

Nice golden colour with greenish reflections. Clean and bright. It shows abundant, uniform and slow-falling tears.

Good intensity with outstanding notes of ripe white fruit and some citrus hints. Its notes of white wild flowers, aromatic herbs and light toasted aromas complete a very refreshing and interesting nose.
2008 The mouthfeel is creamy, also providing a point of fresh acidity.

It has a pale yellow color.

It has a fruity aroma (apricot, citrus and pear), all surrounded by the smell of wood.
