About Musar Jeune White

Musar Jeune White is a white wine aged on lees produced by Château Musar with the Chardonnay, Vermentino and Viognier varieties in the Bekaa Valley (Lebanon).

Château Musar was founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930 when he returned from Bordeaux and decided to make his own wines in one of the most historically fertile parts of the world, the Bekaa Valley (Lebanon). This became clear when Musar was the top wine discovery at the Bristol Wine Fair in 1979. Today, Hochar’s grandchildren are carrying the Musar legacy.

The strains used to make Musar Jeune White come from two different terroirs lying around 1,000 metres above sea level. The Chardonnay and Vermentino vines are planted in limestone soils and the Viognier strains grow in loam soils. Their work in the vineyard is organically certified and the harvest is manual.

Once the Musar Jeune White grapes reach the winery, they vinify separately. For this, they ferment with their own lees in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of between 19 and 22ºC. When the different wines are ready, they are mixed and bottled.

Musar Jeune White is the young white wine made by this legendary Lebanese winery that combines the fragrance of the Viognier, the minerality of the Vermentino and the fruity character of the Chardonnay. It is undoubtedly the youngest expression of the Lebanese style.
2020

Musar Jeune White 2020 is a very lively white. On the nose it is lively and sharp, with notes of pineapple, citrus and a mineral background. This character is maintained on the palate, with notes of lemon and orange. Vibrant and fresh.
2016 Musar Jeune White 2016 is a creamy white wine with intense aromas of exotic white fruit, fresh citrus notes and attractive mineral touches. On the palate it is rich, unctuous and very mineral. A medium-bodied wine, with a very refreshing acidity and a crisp floral finish.
