About Llopart Original 1887 Brut Nature

Llopart Original 1887 Brut Nature is a sparkling wine produced by Llopart in Subirats (Barcelona). Corpinnat.

Llopart is a family-owned winery with a long winemaking tradition. Records show that in 1385, a vineyard was granted to Bernat Llopart, located in what is now known as Heredad Can Llopart. However, it wasn't until 1887 that the first bottle of sparkling wine was bottled at the family's farmhouse in Subirats.

Heredad Can Llopart is the family estate situated on a hill with steep slopes at an average altitude of 340 metres above sea level. The climate in this area features mild winters and sunny but not hot summers. The Montserrat mountain range protects the vineyards from the cold northern winds during winter and moderates the temperatures.

Llopart produces all its sparkling wines using the traditional méthode champenoise, striving for excellence in all its products by ensuring the highest quality of the raw material, the grape.

Llopart Original 1887 Brut Nature is a sparkling wine made from Xarel·lo, Macabeu, and Parellada, from old mountain vineyards with very low yields.

After the hand harvest, each variety is vinified separately. Once fermentation is complete, the blend of the three varieties is made, and the tirage or bottling with yeast and sugar is carried out to initiate the second fermentation in the bottle. After a minimum of 120 months of ageing, disgorgement is performed without adding liqueur d'expédition.

This sparkling wine was first produced to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the first bottle of Llopart sparkling wine.
