About Espelt Vailet

Espelt Vailet is a white wine produced by Espelt Viticultors from the White Grenache (or Lledoner Blanc) and Macabeo varieties in the D.O. Empordà.

Espelt is a family winery with a long winemaking tradition, but it was not until 2000 when, with the help of Anna Espelt, they start selling their own wines. Located in the heart of the Empordà (Girona), its productions are the result of the Tramontana wind, the sandstone soils and the breeze from the Mediterranean Sea.

The native varieties Lledoner Blanc (White Grenache in ‘Empordànese’) and Macabeo grow in the vineyards located in front of the winery. Sandy and granitic terroirs that have been recovered in recent times to enhance a D.O. located in a privileged area between the sea and the mountains.

Once the Espelt Vailet grapes enter the cellar, an alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature of 15ºC to preserve all their aromas. 

Espelt Vailet is a young, fresh and lively white wine, ideal for bringing relief on hot days.
2018 Espelt Vailet 2018 is an aromatic wine with an intense white fruit bouquet, citrus fruits and a floral background. In the mouth it has freshness, balance and a very lively acidity.
