About Dominio del Bendito Perlarena

Dominio del Bendito Perlarena is an organic rosé wine coupage of the Syrah, Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) and Verdejo varieties produced by the Dominio del Bendito winery under the D.O. Toro, in Castilla y León, Spain.

This wine is made from two red grapes and a minimum amount of white, the Verdejo variety, which are harvested together at the optimum point of ripeness before the beginning of the harvest season for the winery’s red varieties, with the aim of making a fruity and fresh wine with a symbolic presence of the Verdejo white grape that adds a floral spark to complement the Syrah and Tinta de Toro varieties.

Dominio del Bendito Perlarena is a directly pressed wine that ferments in French oak barrels. This rosé benefits from resting in the bottle for a short time to develop its aniseed aromas.

Wines from the D.O. Toro are characterised by their fruity profile. They are intense, deep and predominantly red.

Antony Terryn, the winemaker in charge of the Dominio del Bendito winery, likes to break moulds. He began his career in Provence, which is famous for its elegant rosé wines. For Terryn, a good rosé should not be a byproduct of red wine, so he makes this Dominio del Bendito Perlarena with grapes that are cultivated specifically for making this wine. Making a good rosé is hard work, and even more so in this land of reds where Antony Terryn is trying to do something different with this elegant and gastronomic Toro rosé.

On the palate, it is fleshy and rounded, displaying a savoury texture that makes it the perfect companion for a fine meal. A vintage that stands out for its complexity and balance.
 
2018 Dominio del Bendito Perlarena 2018 is a salmon colour rosé wine with aromas of raspberries, tangerines and anise on the nose, accompanied by a floral touch. On the palate it is fresh and fruity and if enjoyed at a slightly higher temperature than usual for a rosé wine, it reveals a lovely roundness and silkiness without losing its surprising freshness. A flavoursome, balanced and elegant wine.
