Domaine Thillardon Les Carrières is a natural red wine made with the Gamay variety by Domaine Thillardon in the AOC Chénas, in Beaujolais (France).
The Thillardon brothers are young winemakers committed to the smaller and lesser-known area of Beaujolais. These vineyards are full of opportunities and thanks to the wines made at Domaine Thillardon since 2008, the diversity of the wonderful terroirs in the AOC Chénas are now more widely known.
Domaine Thillardon Les Carrières comes from vines of the Gamay variety planted in flint soils, in Les Brureaux, in the heart of Chénas. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture with no chemical products, choosing biodynamic treatments instead along with the help of a horse.
In the winery, the Domaine Thillardon Les Carrières grapes are firstly destemmed, and then macerated for approximately 12 days. Then half of the wine ages in used barrels for 10-11 months. Finally it is bottled without added sulphites.
Domaine Thillardon Les Carrières is a very elegant Beaujolais made with natural methods and is a true reflection of the vineyards that the Thillardon brothers have recovered in Chénas.
