About Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge
Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge is a red wine made in the IGP Collines Rhôdaniennes by Domaine Rostaing with the Syrah variety.
Run by René Rostaing, a winemaker who makes and sells his own wines, Domaine Rostaing is based in Ampuis (Rhone) and makes wine in the Côte-Rôtie (Ampodium, Côte Blonde, La Landonne), Condrieu (La Bonnette) and Languedoc denominations. More than 20 different vineyard plots that are used to make traditional wines but they are also flexible with each of the vintages. As a result, they create limited production but internationally-renowned wines.
Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge comes from a set of different young plots on the estate with a limited yield of 35 hectolitres per hectare. The soils are very varied and are mainly based on clay, limestone, silica or iron oxides. At the time of harvesting the grapes are separated by exposure, vine age and soil composition. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, most of the grapes are destemmed. Then Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge is fermented with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. It then ages for 11 months in oak foudres. The wine is not filtered.
Recent international awards have turned Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge into a limited production red wine that is highly sought after and difficult to come by.

| 2017 | Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes Rouge 2017 is an aromatic red wine that offers violet and fresh red and black fruits on the nose with a touch of menthol. On the palate it is very direct and displays plenty of freshness and ripe fruit. | |
