About Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Savagnin

Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Savagnin is a monovarietal white wine made from Savagnin. It belongs to the AOC Arbois and is produced by Domaine de la Pinte.

Domaine de la Pinte is a family winery run by the second generation that has 34 hectares of vineyards planted mainly on blue marl soils about 400 metres above sea level in the municipalities of Arbois and Pupillin. They have farmed organically since 1999 and biodynamically since 2009, and they produce wines that are singular and highly typical.

The soils of the vineyards for Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Savagnin are composed of blue marl from the Lias, from the Jurassic period. The various plots are cultivated biodynamically and are harvested by hand.

Once in the cellar, the grapes for Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Savagnin are pressed in pneumatic press. The must is then cleaned by decanting, and fermented with native yeasts in vats with temperature control. The wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation. Lastly, once finished it ages in barrels for 4 months before being lightly filtered and bottled.

2015 Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Savagnin 2015 is a wine with a complex nose of fresh spices and exotic and ripe fruit. On the palate it is silky and also fresh, followed by a beautiful aromatic persistence with a tense and smooth finish. A white with a lot of energy and a pleasant tension.
