About Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir

Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir is a wood-aged red wine made with the Pinot Noir variety by Crystallum in Western Cape, in the Western Cape South Coast region (South Africa).

Crystallum is a family winery currently run by the third generation, brothers Andrew and Peter-Allan. This project is based in the South African region of Walker Bay and is known for its experience in making Pinot Noir wine, knowledge that has been passed down through the generations.

Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir is made with a mixture of different plots in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, a region famous for its ability to produce fruit on par with a Burgundy Grand Cru. These are high-density vineyards planted 300 metres above sea level and close to the sea.

In the winery, 50% of the Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir grapes are destemmed and the rest are vinified whole clusters. Fermentation takes place naturally with minimal extraction over 4 weeks with the skins.

Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir is a tribute wine to Peter and Max, the men who cultivated the first vintage. A wonderful Pinot Noir that stands out for its delicacy and elegance.

 

2019

Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir 2019 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and floral touches. On the palate it is elegant, delicate and very flavoursome. The tannins are smooth, the acidity is fresh and the flavour is very varietal. A wine that you can enjoy now or leave to develop for the next 10 years.
