About Altos de Tamarón Roble

Altos de Tamarón Roble is a red wine made with the Tinta del País (Tempranillo) variety by Pagos del Rey in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.

Pagos del Rey is part of the Solís Family that started with the desire to represent some of the most well-known Denominations of Origin in Spain like Rioja, Ribera de Duero, Toro and Rueda. New generation wineries where tradition meets modernity like the one located in the heart of Ribera del Duero, in Olmedillo de Roa (Burgos). An impressive winery built in 2002 that has the most state-of-the-art facilities and 1,600 hectares of vineyards to produce young, roble, crianza, reserva and gran reserva wines.

It is no accident that the Solís company built their winery in Olmedillo de Roa. And his wife, Leonor Yáñez has a family in this town with 60 hectares of vineyards. Altos de Tamarón Roble comes from 20-year-old strains planted on flat and rocky soil. Although traditional cultivation methods are used, the most sophisticated quality control systems are also used. Once the grape reaches its optimum ripeness, it is carefully selected and harvested by hand.

When the Altos de Tamarón Roble grapes reach the winery, they are macerated for 2 days. Must fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24ºC. It is aged for 3 months in American oak barrels and subsequently rested in the bottle for 6 months before going to market.

Altos de Tamarón Roble is a semi-aged red wine made in one of the most prestigious Denominations of Origin in Spain where tradition meets modernity.

2023

Altos de Tamarón Roble 2023 is a red wine with an intense cherry colour and violet hues. On the nose, it offers abundant aromas of cherries, plums, and red fruits, accompanied by subtle hints of toasted oak, coffee, and chocolate. On the palate, it is broad and fruity, with a touch of vanilla, smooth tannins, and a pleasant and lingering finish. Its profile is fluid and slightly light, ideal for those seeking a young and easy-to-enjoy wine.

2018 Altos de Tamarón Roble 2018 is a fruity red wine with aromas of red fruits like cherries and black fruits like plums. It reveals fine notes of coffee and chocolate. The palate is broad and fruity, with a pleasant mid-palate and a lingering aftertaste.
