About Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti

A name is worth a thousand words. So when Vietti, one of the best family wineries in Langhe, in Piedmont (Italy), presented us with Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti, we know that this is a wine made using grapes from three different vineyards (Tre Vigne). These three vineyards, La Crena, La Gemella and Cassine, where the grapes come from, provide unique characteristics to the wine due to the soil, climate, altitude and sun exposure. It is thanks to the blend of grapes from these three vineyards that the final wine ends up with a unique flavour, aroma and structure.

Lying in the hills around Asti, the three vineyards are part of the DOCG Barbera d'Asti and the best grapes are used to produce Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti. A red wine made from the native Barbera grape variety, the process begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration and continues with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks for approximately 2 weeks with frequent daily pumping over and délèstage. The wine is then transferred to barrels for malolactic fermentation and remains there for 12 months.

Bearing in mind that the vineyard heritage of this legendary winery is vast and spreads across some of the most legendary crus of the Langhe, Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti showcases a combination of three unrivalled vineyards. A complex and balanced wine that represents the best of each vineyard.
