Steinmetz Brauneberger Riesling is a monovarietal Riesling dry white wine produced by the German winery Günther Steinmetz in Brauneberg, on the banks of the Moselle River, an area that is renowned worldwide for the quality of its wines.
Mandelgraben, the vineyard from which this Riesling’s grapes come, is located on east-facing slopes, and with blue, grey and brown slate soils.
The grapes for Steinmetz Brauneberger Riesling come from low-yielding vines that are over 40 years old. The production is picked and sorted by hand, and the must is obtained by using a gentle treatment without mechanical pressures, which guarantees its high quality.
Stefan Steinmetz was 18 years old when he took over the reins of the Günther Steinmetz winery due to the sudden death of his father. He established the principles for making wine in a way that respects the environment, and for more than 30 years neither pesticides nor herbicides have been used.
"Great wines can only arise from harmony with nature". This is the philosophy of the Günther Steinmetz winery, and one that is reflected in the quality of Steinmetz Brauneberger Riesling, a best seller with a limited production of only 1.200 bottles, perfect for drinking now and with a potential that ensures it will still be talked about in years to come.
Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product
Steinmetz Brauneberger Riesling 2018 is a moderately mineral wine, with notes of graphite, but also reminiscent of plums, sage, cloves, spicy mint and nettles, with a fresh touch of orange peel and lemon.
