About Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer GB
Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer GB was created by selecting the best grapes of the Riesling variety from the Hasenläufer plot in the Brauneberg vineyard, a region known for making the best Rieslings from the Mittel Mosel (the middle area of the Moselle River, in Germany)
The abbreviation GB (Great Brauneberger) on the Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer GB label defines its equivalence to a French Grand Cru, since it comes from an exceptional terroir with soils that are composed of blue, grey and brown shales, and a mixture of red sand and gravel characteristic of the Hasenläufer vineyards. These give rise to a balanced, complex and full-bodied wine, with its mineral and spicy character standing out with a marked presence of fruity aromas, a peculiar and intense aromatic note of saffron and a delicate final bitterness.
The Moselle region is the oldest wine region in Germany, and has a microclimate that makes Rieslings, obtained from heroic vintages growing on slopes with an inclination of up to 70%, which are fine, mineral and elegant.
The German Günther Steinmetz winery is known for producing its wines with maximum respect for the environment, with neither pesticides nor herbicides being used. The use of sulphites is also very limited, so as not to alter the organoleptic characteristics of the wines. The grapes are selected manually, and the pressings are light, without mechanical intervention, giving rise to true gastronomic gems like this Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer GB, a captivating Riesling with a soul of red wine.

2016 | Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer GB 2016 is a classic and complex Riesling, with marked acidity and a mineral and voluminous character. It reveals the presence of ripe fruit: apples, apricots, plums and even red berries. There are spicy notes of white pepper, mint and saffron, and a delicate final bitterness. |
